Brooks Reed, #42 for the Arizona Wildcats football team, was born February 28, 1987 in Tucson, Arizona. While attending Sabino High School, Brooks Reed was Arizona Football Coaches Association first-team All-State 4A and SuperPrep All-America and All-West running back. Brooks Reed earned honorable mention as a junior in 2005 and was Tucson Citizen’s first-team All-3A-4A as defensive lineman. During his junior year, Brooks Reed rushed for 350 yards and seven scores, earning first-team all-league and honorable mention All-state. As a senior, Brooks Reed had 38 tackles and 3 sacks.
Standing at 6’3” and weighing 255lbs, Brooks Reed was an early commitment to the Wildcats class of 2005 to the Arizona University Wildcats football team. After opening the 2007 Arizona Wildcats football season contending for big H-back duty, Brooks Reed switched positions and worked himself into action in the final nine Arizona Wildcats games of 2007, lettering as a backup end and a Wildcats special teams player.
Brooks Reed finished the Wildcats football season with seven total tackles, with the season-best two in the Wildcats victory over Oregon. In 2008, Brooks Reed earned Arizona University student-athlete of the month honor for February and earned honorable mention All-Pac-10 honors as well, leading the Arizona Wildcats with eight sacks and three forced fumbles. Brooks Reed earned the coaches’ awards for Arizona Wildcats defensive player of the week honors with a season and career high of six tackles at New Mexico. Brooks Reed is expected to be a huge factor on defense for the Arizona University Wildcats football team, after a strong finish to his sophomore year.
