Devin Ross, #6 for the Arizona University Wildcats football team, was born on May 25, 1988 in Rancho Cucamonga, California. As a junior at Los Osos High School, Devin Ross had 34 carries for 334 yards and five touchdowns. Devin Ross also caught three passes for 93 yards and returned a kick for a touchdown. On defense, Devin Ross had 44 tackles, two fumble recoveries and one blocked punt for a touchdown. After the 2004 season, Devin Ross transferred to Rancho Cucamonga High School where he earned SuperPrep Dream Team 100 All-American as well as Best in the West first-team honors by the Long Beach Press-Telegram. Devin Ross was first team All-league on defense and second team all-league on offense. CSTV named Devin Ross one of the Top 100 by Tom Lemming. In his senior year, Devin Ross had four interceptions and 60 tackles, plus a versatile threat offensively with 10.5 yards per carry and two touchdowns rushing.
Standing at 5’11” and weighing 175lbs, Devin Ross saw duty in 11 Arizona Wildcats games as a true freshman at Arizona University, where he gave the Wildcats some immediate depth. As a sophomore, he led the Arizona Wildcats with 10 tackles on kick coverage and finished with 16, plus returned an interception 24 yards against Washington State University. With 36 Arizona Wildcats games under his belt, Devin Ross did a solid job assuming the Wildcats starting role after a couple of years’ apprenticeship duty.
In 2008, Devin Ross earned second-team All-Pacific-10 Conference honors and was 16th nationally in total passes defended in 2008 and ninth among FBS players. Devin Ross will anchor one side of Arizona Wildcats University’s secondary, as the top Arizona Wildcat cover man in 2009.
