Xavier Kelley, #15 on the Arizona Wildcats football team, was born on October 19, 1986 in Denton, Texas. While attending Ryan High School, Xavier Kelley earned PrepStar All-America honors as a defensive back, as well as the Coaches’ 2004 All-District 5-5A honors. The Houston Chronicle named Xavier Kelley one of the State Top 100 as a defensive back, while 5AtexasFootball.com named him first-team All-state. Xavier Kelley played in 16 games in the 2003 season for the 4A state runners-up and was credited with 98 tackles and 15 quarterback sacks from his defensive end spot. Xavier Kelley was also a two-year basketball letterman and one in track. Standing at 5’11” and weighing 215lbs, Xavier Kelley is expected to hold down the a linebacker role with the Arizona Wildcats during his fifth-year senior 2009 campaign after a solid junior year and progressive play each year of his career. Xavier Kelley started eight Arizona Wildcats games among the 12 Wildcats games he played in 2008, missing a few starts because of an injury. Xavier Kelley was still able to finish with 51 tackles- third among returnees- and capped off his season with a career-best 15 hits against BYU, in the Pioneer Las Vegas Bowl.
